CPR Information - CPR Instruction -Training
- This is not an online course (Virtual LIVE Viewing) is in person from afar via Zoom.
- An authorized AHA Instructor will provide information, instruction, training and assess CPR skills testing.
- There is cost associated for those being trained need a official American Heart Association CPR card.
- Free Community public service information, instruction will be free and provider by American Heart Association Basic Life Support instructor. Information, instruction or training will be from the current Guidelines and Student Manual. CPR information will be provided via e-mail or Zoom
Experienced Instructor:
Is an authorized American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor, an (EMT) Emergency Medical Technician since 1982 (42 years) a former First Responder on Bellevue Volunteer Fire Department (Fire/Rescue), former Rescue Chief and as a public servant. Instructor has 41 years combined real world experience and served the communities of Bellevue and Omaha. Instructor has personally performed CPR on adults, children and infants with real life street experience.
- HEARTSAVER instructor will translate the book information from the student manual for a better understanding as it relates its meaning and the reality of what to expect. At HEARTSAVER, all students will be provided information from the current (2020 Guidelines) and Student Manual.
- All CPR information or training courses for both BLS Provider & CPR/AED will cover adult, child, infant CPR, AED, choking for the adult, child, & infant. All CPR training courses will have skills testing with a live instructor to watch and assess proper technique, proper compression rate and depth. All students are able to interact with instructor and ask questions, share personal experiences and receive feedback. All CPR skills testing will be live with an authorized American Heart Association Instructor. Instructor will watch for proper technique; compression rate and depth. Students needing official certification will receive an official American Heart Association eCard at the end of class.
- Instructor only provide information or training basic life support courses: BLS Provider, Heartsaver CPR/AED & First Aid. Students needing a CPR card will need to pay the cost of an official course.
For convenience and effective way to provide information or training everything will be done virtually training that is Live viewing with an AHA instructor that will provide information from the current student manual, assess skills testing that will be live viewing via Zoom and class are interactive. Heartsaver CPR/AED and First Aid courses will be done virtually.
There is no different than the typical in-person where students are in close contact and are greater risk of being exposed to an illness by another student except everyone will not in close contact with others that may be sick. As of January 2024, the CDC and other health organizations are still reporting that some people are still getting sick with Covid related symptoms, the possible risk of spreading, becoming infected with the flu, RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus), contagious viruses or other airborne respiratory infections or illness.
AHA instructor will be assessing and looking for proper technique, compression rate and compression depth for 1-full minute. Students will actually learn what their compression rate is in real time. Students are able to ask questions and get feedback. Using something that is at least 6 inches thick or thicker in order to go at least 2 inches like the cushions for your sofa is about the same thickness of the current manikins being use. Practicing compression rate and rhythm at least every 6 months will help with muscle memory and rhythm.
Instructor:.Instructor will provide additional information that is not discussed in the books or videos. Instructor will assure that students actually understand the information and students have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback. Instructor will translate the information from the student manual or learning tool (keeping it real) and let students know what to really expect and how thing really work in the real world. Instructor provides students the rest of the information that is not discussed.
Instructor will also address diversity of victim sizes, ethic skin tones, rescuers fitness level and other situations. We are all different and some may need to make adjustments or modifications may need to be made to achieve the objective. There is more to the basic information generally provided in books, videos or online. Students will complete their session with a better understanding of the information and the reality of what really may happens in the real world. (All students will feel confident).
Instructor will also use additional illustrations and pictures to adapt to different learning styles. It is important for student to have the opportunity to ask questions as cognitive information is subjective to interpretation. Cognitive information and real-world reality will to be blended for a better understanding.
As community service, a American Heart Association Basic Life Support instructor may provide information, instruction or training from the current Guidelines and Student Manual. CPR information will be provided via e-mail or Zoom.
