(AHA) American Heart Association courses meet state licensing and certification requirements.
(AHA) American Heart Association is the most widely recognized and accepted by medical facilities.
HEARTSAVER provides students with additional information from the 2010 American Heart Association Journal regarding the new guidelines about CPR and trains students to become confident and able to provide adult, child, infant CPR, relieve choking and to use the (AED) Automated External Defibrillator. HEARTSAVER want all students to be properly prepared for emergencies involving adults, children or infants. HEARTSAVER prefers not to give students part of the information such as training you in only in adult CPR or only infant CPR as some may do. You will never know who or when you may need to perform CPR or relieve choking. For this reason you will be trained in everything so you are properly prepared.
Instructor's Goal: "To make a difference by having each student leave the class feeling confident in performing CPR and to understand the intent of what the American Heart Association Guidelines are trying to get you to do.
HEARTSAVER provides additional hands on training with the emphasis on High-Quality CPR pushing hard and fast at least 100/min. When they say go at least 100/min that opens up the door to speed. At least 100/min should be the bare minimum. When it say "push hard and fast" that is what it means. Your hard and fast is for you. Everyone in different and will have a different hard and fast flow and rhythm for them. You will learn and develop a hard fast pace that is comfortable for you and a rate that you will be able to maintain for an extended amount of time. The best way is to go on your own natural response as epinephrine will help you go faster, harder and longer and will always be going at rate of at least 100/min or more. (Do something rather than nothing)
In the American Heart Association 2010 Guidelines, it states, "the actual number of compressions delivered per minute is determined by the rate of chest compression and the number and durations of interruptions to open the airway, give breath or use the AED". So we are talking about doing a least 100/min compressions and giving breaths in 60 seconds. (Most people copy what they see on T.V. and videos. These are illustrations of how to do compressions and not necessarily the correct speed.) If you time and count the compressions and breaths being shown in some of the illustrations they are slow. (From 75-100) which is the bare minimum.
In the American Heart Association 2010 Guidelines, it also states "improved survival rates with speeds as fast as 120/min". Each student receives quality training, personalized attention in class and questions are answered and explained. HEARTSAVER provides students with information on what to expect on the streets in real life situations (Keeping it Real). HEARTSAVER provides training for the Community, Businesses, Healthcare Providers & Childcare Providers and whoever want to be trained. HEARTSAVER is commitment to Excellence, Honesty, Integrity and Customer Service. Instructor cares that each student is properly trained and confident when they walk out the door."
In class you will see media news reports from the July 2009 New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA - 2005 Journal of American Medical Association and a Medicare study that reports CPR given by hospital staffers, chest compressions often are too slow or too shallow to be effective. (So pushing harder and faster) reflectives the new changes.
