The American Heart Association requires that all students have the current appropriate student workbook or student manual for class.
The workbooks and the student manuals from the American Heart Association comes with a CD and reminder cards. Most participants find it beneficial to have access to the book after class for reviewing the material.
HEARTSAVER will have the required workbooks and manuals available for all of the courses. The cost will be $12.00 or $15.00. You can also purchase the appropriate workbooks or manuals on-line from one of the following websites listed below.

HEARTSAVER will also have CPR barrier mask for a cost of $10.00 each.
Each of the CPR courses provided by Heartsaver includes: adult, child and infant CPR, choking, the use of the pocket mask and AED (automated external defibrillator) will be included. Heartsaver does not split your training by teaching you only one thing such as only adult CPR or only infant CPR. You will be trained in everything.
About the Courses
All courses meet the requirements for State Licensing.
Heartsaver CPR Approx. 2 1/2 hours
This course is designed for any man, women or child wanting to learn how to perform CPR with confidence. This course teaches adult, child and infant CPR, relief of choking in adults, children and infants. The use of barrier devices (face shields and pocket mask) and the use of (AED) Automated External Defibrillator. This course would be beneficial anyone who are willing to perform CPR on a family member, a customer, a friend, a co-worker or a strangers. This course would be beneficial for manager and employees of businesses or organizations that has contact with people. Police, security, babysitters, daycare/childcare providers, shopping malls employees, hotels / motel employees, amusement parks, lifeguards, fitness center workers, construction workers and those who have swimming pools. Also those businesses that has an (AED) automated external defibrillator adults and children who are willing to learn CPR will be taught.
Automated External Defibrillators (AED): You will be shown 3 different types of AED's and how they are used. The Phillips Heartstart FR2, Phillips Heartstart FRx and the Zoll AED Plus.
Healthcare Provider BLS (Initial / Renewal) Approx. 3 hours
This course covers CPR on adults, children & infants, two rescuer CPR, airway obstruction, the use of the AED, use of the pocket mask and use of the bag valve mask.
This course is beneficial to all Healthcare Providers working with patients such as doctors, physician assistants, dentist, nurses, respiratory therapist, physical therapist, chiropractors, and those working in nursing homes etc. Those who have the bag valve mask at their workplace and those who must have a (BLS) Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider course completion card for their job.
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Approx. 2 1/2 hours or combination of
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR/AED Approx. 5 hours
This course teaches you how to manage illness & injuries specifically for children until professional help arrives. Topics include First Aid Basics including infant choking. Medical Emergency including diabetes, seizures and shock, asthma, allergic reaction and the use of the epinephrine pen. Injury Emergencies including cuts, bruises, bleeding, broken bones, and burns.
This course would be beneficial to those working with children such as daycare or childcare providers, parents, teachers, babysitters, foster care parents, camp counselors etc.
With the combination Pediatric First Aid with CPR/AED you will be trained in the American Heart Association Pediatric First Aid Course along with adult, child and infant CPR, choking and the use of the AED.
This course meets the standards and the guidelines needed for Daycare/Childcare Providers.
Heartsaver First Aid Approx. 2 1/2 hours or combination of
First Aid with CPR/AED Approx. 5 hours
This course teaches you how to manage illness & injury in the first few minutes before professional help arrives. Included in this course are General Principles, Medical Emergency & Injury including choking, shock, fainting, chest pain/heart attack, seizure, bleeding, broken bones, allergic reaction and the use of the epinephrine pen. This course would be beneficial to those who would respond to a first aid or cardiac emergencies.
Approx 5 to 6 hours
You will receive a American Heart Association course completion cards upon completion of the selected courses. These cards are widely recognized and accepted by healthcare facilities and businesses.
